How to import text in shapes in Word documents

Déjà Vu X2 can be made to extract text from Shape objects inside Word documents if these documents are stored in Office 2007/2010 format (.docx). Due to the way shapes are stored in Word 2003 format (.doc), there is no way Déjà Vu X2 can access this text.

If your documents are already in .docx format, or you are able to convert them to that format, Déjà Vu X2 will extract text from Shapes. If you find that it does not, you may be using an obsolete version of Déjà Vu X2 that does not have this capability, in which case you should download and install the latest update.
