Macro Security setting in Office

Office applications implement was is called Macro Security. This feature restricts the conditions under which a macro in an Office application will allowed to run, thus making your use of Office more secure.

If you find that your copy of Office is restricting your use of macros too much, you can see the current setting being used and change it to something more suited to your needs. This page explains how to do this using Excel 2010, but the process is very similar for other Office applications, and other versions of Office.
