You should check to see if Déjà Vu is using the right filter, and if it is setup correctly.

Microsoft Office 2007 Open XML

This filter can be used to import .docx documents in both Déjà Vu X2 and Déjà Vu X3. If you want to use this filter to import .docx documents, ensure that: 

• The filter Microsoft Office 2007 Open XML is selected
• The Filter Definition File field contains the correct path to the file Office2007.dvflt. If Déjà Vu cannot find the filter definition file, the result of the import process will be an empty project.

To change the filter definition file, you must modify the Filter Properties for that file.

Click on the version of Déjà Vu you are using to see the default paths for the Microsoft Office 2007 Open XML filter definition:

This filter can be used to import .docx documents in Déjà Vu X3, but it is not supported by Déjà Vu X2.
