How to export a Termbase to CSV format

You can export data from a Déjà Vu Termbase to CSV (Comma Separate Values) format by exporting it to "Text" format from Déjà Vu. Click on the version of Déjà Vu that you are using to learn how to export a Termbase to Text format.

  1. Open the Termbase you wish to export to CSV format.
  2. Access the following menu option File>Export>External Data.
  3. When prompted by the wizard, select Text as the data format.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select a name and a location for the new CSV file that the Termbase will be exported to. If you want to export a CSV file, you can give the output file the .csv extension.
  6. Click Next.
  7. The wizard prompts you to specify the fields you are planning to export.
  8. Click Add.
  9. Specify for each exportable field the Field Type, Language, the column header in the Excel file (Export As), and the relation to other selected fields.
  10. Continue until you have selected and specified all necessary fields.

    You can move the fields with the up and the down arrows to the right of the selection field.
  11. The Filtering Conditions page appears. You can skip this by clicking Next.
  12. Click Next.
  13. The Specify Text Options page appears. This page is important because it determines what the output text file will be like. To produce a CSV file, you should select the "comma" as the Delimiter, as shown here:

  14. Click Finish.
  15. The wizard displays the import progress:
  16. When it is finished, it shows how many records have been added.
  17. Click Close and you are returned to your Termbase view.
  1. Open the Termbase you wish to export to Excel format.
  2. Access the External Data section of the ribbon and then click on Text in the Export group.
  3. Select a name and a location for the new text that the Termbase will be exported to. If you want to export a CSV file, you can give the output file the .csv extension.
  4. Click Next.
  5. The wizard prompts you to specify the fields you are planning to export.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Specify for each exportable field the Field Type, Language, the column header in the Excel file (Export As), and the relation to other selected fields.
  8. Continue until you have selected and specified all necessary fields.

  9. Click Next.
  10. The Filtering Conditions page appears. You can skip this by clicking Next.

  12. Click Next.
  13. Wait for the Wizard to finish exporting.
  14. When the export finishes, the Wizard will tell you how many segments were exported.Click Close and you are returned to your Termbase view.
