The filter definition file could not be found

If you attempt to export an Office 2007 (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx, etc.) and you see a dialog window like this:

This means that Déjà Vu was unable to locate the filter definition file that was specified for at least one of the documents being exported. The Microsoft Office 2007 Open XML format is, as its name indicates, XML based, and therefore Déjà Vu uses a custom XML filter to import this format.

As with all XML filter defnition files used in Déjà Vu, the name and location of the filter definition file used by the Office 2007 filter is stored in the project. If the filter definition file is renamed, moved or deleted, or if the project is openend in a different computer in which the filter definition file used by the Office 2007 filter is located somewhere else, Déjà Vu will be unable to find the filter definition file in the location that was stored, and output the dialog window shown above to warn you about this and give you the opportunity to specify a location where Déjà Vu can find the file it needs.

The filter definition file that is installed with Déjà Vu may be in different locations depending on the version and language of your copy of Windows, and wether you are using Déjà Vu X, Déjà Vu X2 or Déjà Vu X3:

  • In Windows Vista or 7 (64-bit):
    • Déjà Vu X: C:\Program Files (x86)\ATRIL\Deja Vu X\Templates\Office2007.dvflt
    • Déjà Vu X2 and Déjà Vu X3: C:\ProgramData\ATRIL\Déjà Vu X2\Filters\Office2007.dvflt
  • In Windows Vista or 7 (32-bit):
    • Déjà Vu X: C:\Program Files\ATRIL\Deja Vu X\Templates\Office2007.dvflt
    • Déjà Vu X2 and Déjà Vu X3: C:\ProgramData\ATRIL\Déjà Vu X2\Filters\Office2007.dvflt
  • In Windows XP:
    • Déjà Vu X: C:\Program Files\ATRIL\Deja Vu X\Templates\Office2007.dvflt
    • Déjà Vu X2 and Déjà Vu X3: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ATRIL\Déjà Vu X2\Filters\Office2007.dvflt

These locations are correct if your copy of Windows is in English; if it is in a different language some folder names may be different. For example, in a Spanish copy of Windows the folder C:\Program Files will be called C:\Archivos de Programa. In that case, you should ascertain what the appropriate folder names are and use those.
