Google Translate does not work correctly in Déjà Vu

Check that Déjà Vu is correctly configured to use Google Translate

You must enable Google Translate in each project in which you want to use it. You can do this for individual languages, or for all languages, using the Project Properties dialog window:

  1. Open the Project Properties dialog.
  2. Select the Machine Translation tab.
  3. Select a language from the Target Language drop-down box.
  4. Click on Add....
  5. Select Google Translate from the list of Machine Translation providers.
  6. Enter your Google Translate API key, or accept the default shown if it is correct.

You can also specify a default Google Translate key to use in Déjà Vu's general options, which is what Déjà Vu will use unless you specify a different one in a project:

  1. Access the menu option File>Options.
  2. Select the Machine Translation tab.
  3. Click on Google Translate Options....
  4. Type in your Google Translate API key in the textbox labelled API key.

This process is demonstrated in one of our videos.

Check you Google Translate API Key

You can use the textbox below to check the validity of your Google Translate API key. To do so, enter your API key in the textbox below and click Enter. When you do, a simple translation request will be sent directly to Google Translate, using the API key you have entered.

You will see the response from Google Translate, including error messages or warnings if there are any.

If you have had trouble getting Google Translate in Déjà Vu X3, copy the result and send it to Atril Support.
