This means that the document file is actually a zip file that contains other files and folders. Déjà Vu unzips these document to be able to work with the files they contain.
This error message can appear whenever Déjà Vu imports a document that is a ZIP containernote, e.g.:
- Microsoft Open XML (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx)
- OpenOffice document (.odf)
- Adobe InDesign (.idml)
Why this message appears
This messages means that Déjà Vu was unable to unzip the container. This can happens for these reasons:
- The document itself is damaged, and it is not possible to unzip it. You can check this yourself by attempting to open the document with an archival tool such as WinZIP, WinRAR, 7zip, etc.
If this happens, you will need to obtain an intact copy of the document. - The document is open in another application that has established an exclusive lock on the file. Microsoft Word, for example, establishes exclusive locks on .docx documents when it opens them. In this case, closing the applications that have the document in question open will be enough.
- The document is password protected, or has parts that are protected in this way. This is particularly likely to happen with Excel Spreadsheets. If this is the case, you will see error messages like these:
- If you are using the Microsoft Office Live filter to import the spreadsheet:
Engine.AsposeOfficeFilter.ImportFileRecursive Line: ###
-2147221503: Zip file is corrupted or unreadable
- If you are using the Microsoft Office 2007/2010 Open XML to import the spreadsheet:
