If you are using Windows Vista or 7, the problem will probably be solved if you run the installer as an Administrator.
Other things to try:
- Install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 runtime manually: You can download it from here.
- Can you confirm that you were able to install the MSVC 2005 SP1 runtime manually and that it was completed successfully? And, if so, do you get the same error as before when installing DVX? We’ve actually seen this error in person before, and can confirm that installing the runtime manually fixes it…
- If you can confirm all the above, another thing that could have created this problem is that certain pre-installed OEM tools might be causing this For example, this problem may be caused by programs such as WinTools, WinEasy, WebSearch, Easy Installer, System Mechanic, and HP Component Manager.
In this case, you would have to identify the program that is causing the problem and uninstall it. You can install it back after completing your DVX installation.
