How to copy my Déjà Vu settings to another Déjà Vu installation

Déjà Vu stores its settings in the settings file. The information stored in the settings file includes:

  • Autotext entries
  • Clients
  • Subjects
  • Filter options
  • Delimiter rules

Click on the version of Déjà Vu that you are using below:

To transfer your settings to another computer running Déjà Vu, you need only transfer this file. To find the location of the file, access the menu option: Tools>Options>General>Miscellaneous

Once you have located the file, copy it to the corresponding folder in the other computer and Déjà Vu will use it, thus adopting the settings stored in it.

Another option is to access the appropriate menu option in Déjà Vu and from there specify a different location where you want Déjà Vu to look for its settings file. You can, for example, store one settings file in a shared location accessible from several computers in your local network and configure all your copies of Déjà Vu to use that settings file. This way, all your copies of Déjà Vu will use the exact same settings.
