Sometimes, when you start Déjà Vu X3, it will look like this:
This problem happens because a key from the Windows Registry that has become contaminated with bad information, and this information causes Déjà Vu X3 to malfunction. To solve the problem, you must delete this key from the registry. The next time you start Déjà Vu X3 after deleting this key, Déjà Vu X3 will create the key again, and fill it with the default information.
Doing this will have the side effect of resetting the layout of the graphical elements of Déjà Vu X3, so don't be surprised to find that the various windows inside Déjà Vu X3's main window have changed size or position.
There are 2 ways to delete this key.
Automatic script
You can download and run a script that delete the key for you. To do so:
- Make sure Déjà Vu X3 is not running.
- Download the script.
- Unzip the file you download.
- Run the unzipped file as Administrator.
- When the script finishes running, press any key to close the window.
- Start Déjà Vu X3.
After that, the ribbon should work correctly.
Manually editing the Registry
Alternatively, you can edit the registry yourself to delete the key. To do so:
- Make sure Déjà Vu X3 is not running.
- Start the Registry Editor.
- Find the key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ATRIL\Déjà Vu X3\Layout
- Select the key called Layout:
- Access the menu option Edit>Delete.
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Start Déjà Vu X3.
